Since 2019, we’ve had the joy of caring for the Island’s dogs and cats with a focus on consistency, enrichment, and gentle, attentive care. We believe great pet care is never rushed and never one-size-fits-all.
Whether your dog looks forward to their daily walk, your cat prefers a quiet visit, or your household needs dependable in-home sitting, we’re here to make life easier for both pets and people.

Our Approach
We prioritize calm, predictable experiences for pets. Walks, visits, and home stays are designed to feel natural and low-stress rather than rushed or overstimulating.
Many of the animals we care for are sensitive, aging, shy, or deeply bonded to their routines. Patience and gentle awareness guide everything we do.

Al Fresco Tails is run entirely by co-owners Cay and Heather, providing kind and reliable pet care on the Vineyard since 2019.

Heather grew up on her grandparents’ farm in Pennsylvania, surrounded by animals of every shape and size. Now on the Vineyard, she’s our kitty whisperer, group-walk guru, and dedicated pet care expert.

From discovering hidden Vineyard trails to coaching dogs (and humans!) on how to enjoy every walk, Cay brings energy, creativity, and a sense of adventure to every pup she meets. Each walk is a mini-exploration — fun, safe, and always tail-wag approved.
